As someone with a larger fleet, I know the stress of waiting to see what the next insurance provider will be, just like a host I heard about with 15 cars. It’s a common concern, and I’m right there with them—trying to figure out what’s next.
I also had a similar experience to another host I heard about, who got a quote from ABI for $87 per month with full coverage—but with a $2,500 deductible. From what I’ve seen, it seems like these alternative insurers all come with higher deductibles than what I was used to with Lula’s $1,000, and that’s really got me thinking about my next steps.
I came across another story where someone got quoted $92 per vehicle for full coverage from Tint, or $58 for liability, both with a $2,500 deductible. That’s actually more expensive than the coverage I had with Lula, so it’s made me consider how much more I might be paying with these other providers.
I also heard from a host who had a claim with Lula for a stolen car back in December and was still waiting after five months. They kept getting the runaround about “administrative issues.” That’s made me pretty worried about anyone currently dealing with claims with Lula, and if I were in that position, I’d be feeling pretty frustrated.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the differences in coverage too. Lula offered 300 miles per month with a $1,000 deductible, but then I saw ABI offering only 250 miles per month with a much higher $2,500 deductible. With Lula possibly gone now, that higher deductible from ABI is definitely something I’m concerned about. It makes me question whether I’m going to have to make a tough decision soon about what’s best for my business.
