I’m looking into pet insurance for my furry friend and Lemonade seems like a popular option with its tech-savvy approach. However, I’ve stumbled upon a mix of reviews online, some praising their fast claim processing while others report difficulties with denials and rising premiums. As a cautious pet parent, I’d love to hear from actual Lemonade users about their experiences, good or bad, to help me make an informed decision. What has your journey been like?

I got Lemonade for my puppy, and they denied a claim for stomach issues a month later, labeling it a pre-existing condition even though he had similar issues during the waiting period. It felt like they were looking for any reason not to pay out, and for the few hundred dollars I spent on the policy, I received no benefit.

I have been waiting for 17 days after filing a claim for my cat’s kidney issue, and after two emails, it still hasn’t been processed. This slow processing time, especially when facing significant vet bills, is making me consider switching to a different insurance company.

My dog had cherry eye surgery which Lemonade denied, citing a genetic condition. Then, they denied an emergency vet visit for a foreign body, stating it wasn’t an emergency. These denials for seemingly valid issues have made me lose faith in their coverage despite their initially cheap premiums.

I submitted a claim for my cat’s internal specialist tests which cost $2,500, and it took six weeks to finally get reimbursed 90% minus the deductible and exam fee. While they did eventually pay, the lengthy process and the feeling that they were digging for reasons to deny the claim was stressful.
