I’ve always bought my glasses from the eye doctor’s office, but it feels like I’m paying a lot. I’m curious if buying glasses online is actually cheaper in the long run. Has anyone here made the switch and noticed big savings? I’d like to know if the quality is comparable and if the lower prices online are worth it.

I ordered a pair of basic glasses from Pair for $54, and my prescription is spot on. Considering how much more I’ve paid at the eye doctor in the past, this seems like a really good deal.

I got two pairs of glasses from an online store for $38 total, and they are just as good as the fancy pair I bought at the doctor’s for over $800 (or $600 after insurance). That’s a massive difference in price for similar quality.

Even with needing a high index lens and other upgrades for my “special stupid” eyes, I pay $120 through Zenni. The last time I checked about 7 years ago, a similar pair would have cost me $800 at a physical store.

I’ve bought glasses from Eyebuydirect for around $60 on average, and I find their quality and style to be good. In the past, I used to spend between $180 and $260 for frames and lenses at brick-and-mortar stores.
