Hey everyone, my eye doctor is retiring, and I’m considering getting my next eye exam at Costco, where I already buy my glasses. I’m curious to hear about your personal experiences with the optometrists at Costco. Were you happy with the service? What about the cost compared to other places? Any insights would be greatly appreciated as I make this decision!

I don’t have vision insurance, so I get my appointments done at Costco. It costs $175 at my Southern California warehouse – $75 for the glasses prescription and $100 for contacts.

I paid $120 for my Costco optometrist visit in a big city, but I should have gone to my local one that only charges $85.

I got two pairs of glasses for $211 at Costco because they had a deal for $50 off the second pair. This was a fraction of what I used to pay at my eye doctor for just one pair.

I paid $85 for my comprehensive eye exam at Costco, and my new prescription glasses cost me $200. The high index, single vision, and anti-reflective coating added another $80. It was about half the cost compared to LensCrafters.
