I’m seeing a lot of mixed reviews about Lemonade pet insurance. Some folks online have had great experiences with quick claim resolutions and reimbursements, while others, like the original poster in one thread, report drastic premium increases after a year and denials of legitimate claims. It seems like there’s a real divide in customer satisfaction. So, I’m curious, has anyone else had a surprisingly good or bad experience with Lemonade pet insurance, and what was the outcome when you really needed them?

I cancelled my Lemonade policy after they refused to cover my vet visit, claiming the insurance doesn’t cover the examination fee, only the treatment. So, even though I paid over $500 a year in premiums, I still had to pay the full $71 vet bill out of pocket for diagnosing my dog’s vomiting.

I’ve been with Lemonade for four years with a dog who has chronic allergies, and they have always covered everything. Perhaps location matters, as I’m in California, which might have better consumer protection for pet insurance.

My dog had emergency surgery that should have been covered at 80%, but Lemonade denied my claim because they mistakenly thought I had another insurance policy. I only have Lemonade, and dealing with this error has been a nightmare.

Even though Lemonade advertises 2-day waiting period for accidents and 14 days for illnesses, some users have reported waiting weeks or even months for claim processing, especially for larger amounts. This delay can be incredibly stressful when you’re facing mounting vet bills.
